In respect to tradition and quality, the Champagne Frerejean Frères Premier Cru is an harmonious grape variety blend: 50% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 20% Meunier.
The vineyards, from which the Frerejean Freres champagne originates, straddles the Côte des Blancs and the premier cru village of Grauves located 10km South from Epernay.
The elaboration of our Champagne takes place in the cellars of the village of Grauves. The wines are surveyed from the harvest to bottling and up until the sale. They are aged over a five-year period in the cellar at a constant temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.
A luminous, beautifully intense golden color with fine and delicate bubbles that integrate perfectly with the texture of the wine.
Very expressive nose of cooked apples and dried fruit at the opening; it ends with perfumes of honey and almonds after aeration towards room temperature. The palette is very rounded, ample, smooth, and very nice in length, with ripe fruit that maintain a beautiful freshness which evolve into notes of caramel and prunes.
A perfect balance of vivacity and maturity, with a beautiful range of aromas that develop with aeration towards candied fruit and progress to more complex scents of undergrowth and forest mushrooms at room temperature.
"The wine unfolds with brilliant and clear colour, golden yellow with glints of silver, and a fine bead of bubbles.
The aromatic palette is dense with hints of white fruits (pear), spices (Penja white pepper), candied fruits, honey and brioche.
The palate is pleasant and tasty. The power arrives in a crescendo, so as not to not offend the palate, it is rich and full. The long finish takes these notes of candied fruits and brioche, and ends on a note of citron which brings freshness.
This champagne is a worthy ambassador of its region, true to its terroir.
It will give you a moment of gastronomic delight with a Bresse chicken in cream, foie gras and champagne of course.
